Satish Shankar
Research Engineer

Shankar is currently working on underwater networking and communication systems. He graduated from Mumbai University with a bachelors in electronics and communication engineering. During his undergrad days, he worked at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) on deeply embedded network systems like wireless sensor networks and self-organizing systems. His current research interests include underwater networking/acoustic communication in particular, and wireless sensor networks/networked embedded systems and ad-hoc/mesh networks in general. In the past he has played with anti-noise systems, genetic algorithms and evolutionary computing, in which he continues to have a running interest. He also gets excited about social entrepreneurship and green energy. He enjoys swimming, sailing, hiking, photography and reading philosophy when he's free.
