Brief Biography

Mandar Chitre is currently the Head of the Acoustic Research Laboratory (ARL) at the Tropical Marine Science Institute (TMSI) in Singapore. He is also an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) of the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Mandar’s research interests include signal processing, ambient noise imaging, underwater acoustic communications, autonomous underwater vehicles, complex systems & emergent behavior and computational biology.

Apart from academic interests, Mandar has a passion for photography, computers, scuba diving, chilli, wine and contract bridge. He also enjoys a good game of squash and badminton.
