Research Facilities

Research staff and facilities of the ARL are located in a few buildings in the NUS Kent Ridge Campus. Some of the researchers are located at the S2S building, a shared research facility between the TMSI and CRISP. Other researchers are located only a short distance away at the pre-fabricated laboratory space specially designed for the ARL.

Getting Here

First time visitors (and taxi drivers) often have trouble finding the laboratory, so we have put together some directions that might help you find us. Although we are right in the center of the NUS campus, we are somewhat hidden away in the trees on top of the ridge.

Walking from NUS Kent Ridge Campus

From the Central Library bus stop, walk uphill towards the covered bridge till you see steps leading to the bridge on the right. Ascend the steps to reach near LT4 and the Chinese Library. You then have two options:
  • Walk around 100 – 200m through the road which leads uphill near CDTL (which ends at the Kent Ridge road) and ARL is the blue and white pre-fabricated building on the upper left side of the road OR
  • Take the steps which lead to the space between LT3 and LT4. Take the steps near the restroom leading up the ridge towards the entrance of the S2S building (see the map).

Public Transport

Take the following buses which pass through NUS Kent Ridge Campus.

  • 95 from Bouna Vista MRT
  • 96 from Clementi MRT

Alight at Computer Centre/Central Library bus stop. (You can also take NUS internal shuttle buses A1, A2, B, D and science park shuttle to get down at these stops). From Computer Centre bus stop, ascend the steps and walk across the bridge to reach near LT4 and the Chinese Library. From the Central Library bus stop, walk uphill towards the covered bridge till you see steps leading to the bridge on the right. Ascend the steps to reach near LT4 and the Chinese Library. Driving

From the AYE, take the NUH exit. Turn on to South Bouna Vista Road and continue past the traffic light at Science Park I. Take the first right turn after the traffic light. The road forks into three roads, take the rightmost road. Continue on the road for quite a while until the road forks towards the right. Take the right fork and ARL is the blue and white pre-fabricated building on the left. The S2S building is a little further with a big satellite dish on top.
